Microsoft SQL Server

Filess provides managed hosting for Microsoft SQL Server, enabling you to run enterprise-grade relational database workloads in a fully managed environment.

Availability

SQL Server is currently available exclusively on Dedicated Plans. It is not available on Shared or Free tiers due to resource requirements and licensing structures.

Supported Versions & Editions​

  • Edition: Express Edition
  • Versions:
    • SQL Server 2025 (Preview)
    • SQL Server 2022
    • SQL Server 2019
    • SQL Server 2017

Features​

  • Native Compatibility: Full compatibility with T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Tools Support: Connect using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure Data Studio, or VS Code.
  • Isolation: Runs in a dedicated environment with guaranteed CPU and RAM.

Limitations (Express Edition)​

As we provide the Express edition, standard Microsoft limitations apply:

  • Database Size: Up to 10 GB per database.
  • Compute: Limited to lesser of 1 socket or 4 cores.
  • Buffer Pool: Maximum 1410 MB.

Deployment​

To deploy a SQL Server instance:

  1. Navigate to the Filess Console.
  2. Select New Deployment.
  3. Choose Dedicated Mode.
  4. Select SQL Server from the engine list.
  5. Configure your resources (CPU/RAM) and Region.
  6. Click Deploy.
